Listing a machine
Everything you need to get a machine from your yard onto the marketplace.
A listing has three parts: machine record (what it is), condition block (what state it's in), and commercial terms (what you want for it and how). The listing studio walks you through each; most sellers complete their first listing in 15–25 minutes.
Five listing types
Operators decide which of the five are enabled on their marketplace. You can combine types (e.g. a listing can be both *Direct sale* and *Reservable*).
- Direct sale · fixed price, first-to-pay wins. Good for well-known machines with clear market pricing.
- Open for offers · structured counter-offer flow. Use when market price is unclear.
- Reservable · buyer pays a deposit to hold the machine while arranging finance or inspection.
- Requires service · buyer must award a bundled service tender (e.g. refurb) before the sale completes.
- Pre-qualified · only buyers meeting operator-defined criteria (certifications, geo, company size) can submit offers.
Machine record
Core fields are required; the studio validates against OEM registries where available (Cat, Volvo, Liebherr, Komatsu). If your machine predates digital telematics, provide a service booklet photo and our ops team fills in the rest.
| Field | Required? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Make / model | Yes | Must match a known OEM model code |
| Serial number / VIN | Yes | Used for stolen-equipment cross-check |
| Year of manufacture | Yes | From OEM registry if possible |
| Operating hours | Yes | From hour-meter; inspection may adjust |
| Attachments | No | Quick-coupler, bucket, ripper, etc. |
| Service history files | Recommended | OEM-exported PDF · boosts trust |
Condition grading
Condition is graded A/B/C per subsystem. Sellers can self-grade on first listing; verified sellers at Tier 2+ can sign their own grades. For green Inspected badge, commission an inspection via inspections & reports.
Commercial terms
Set asking price in EUR, USD, GBP, NOK, SEK, DKK, or CHF. Operators may restrict currency based on their market. Set Incoterm (EXW, FCA, CPT, CIP, DAP, DDP), minimum offer (for *Open for offers*), and optional reserve price.
Publishing
Tier 1 listings go through a brief ops review (typical: 2 working hours). Tier 2+ listings fast-track — they publish the moment you click Publish. Edits to a live listing are visible in the public version history.
